The Vero Beach Bungalow is a 5,500-square-foot, two-story residence with a courtyard guest suite located within the prestigious Windsor Club community.
Inspired by the area’s resort-like atmosphere, the interior combines lush textures, casual furnishings, and a soft, sun-washed palette accented with vibrant pops of color. The result is a refined yet effortlessly relaxed hideaway tailored to the lifestyle of a family seeking both comfort and sophistication.
The challenge was to design a home that balanced laid-back coastal living with the client’s love of contemporary design and curated vintage pieces.
The interior needed to feel open, airy, and connected to the lush outdoor surroundings, while still providing private, functional spaces for work, family life, and guests. Creating a cohesive flow between public and private areas—without sacrificing warmth or elegance—was essential.
The home’s layout was organized around views, light, and seamless movement. Upon entry, guests are welcomed by a double-height gallery overlooking the expansive terrace, pool, and walled garden beyond—instantly setting a tone of serenity. Carefully planned living areas transition fluidly from one space to the next, blending contemporary pieces with vintage furnishings to create depth and character. In the office, dramatic ceruse oak millwork conceals ample workspace, allowing the room to shift effortlessly between productivity and leisure.
Upstairs, the private family level enjoys abundant natural light and panoramic garden views. A mezzanine gathering area connects three bedrooms and features an organic Kagan Skulptur sofa that anchors the space with sculptural elegance. The master suite includes its own covered outdoor terrace, offering a tranquil vantage point overlooking the garden and pool below—ideal for quiet mornings or relaxed evenings.
The finished home is a sophisticated, understated retreat that reflects both the easy coastal charm of Vero Beach and the clients’ modern sensibilities.
