The Lucida is the first LEED-certified luxury residential building on the Upper East Side, bringing environmentally conscious living to an entirely new level of sophistication. Spanning 150,000 square feet, the tower integrates eco-friendly materials, high-performance systems, and contemporary architectural detailing into a glamorous, modern environment.
From the richly layered lobby to the meticulously crafted residences and world-class amenities, the project reinterprets sustainable living through a lens of luxury, comfort, and timeless New York style.
The challenge was to merge high-end luxury with rigorous sustainability standards—a balance rarely attempted in Manhattan at the time.
The building needed to reflect the elegance and heritage of the Upper East Side while meeting LEED criteria, integrating renewable materials, and delivering modern amenities expected by discerning residents. The design required a seamless fusion of eco-conscious choices and the opulence characteristic of premium residential towers.
The solution was a holistic approach that married environmental responsibility with refined urban living. The lobby pays tribute to New York modernism, featuring rich woods, patina bronze inlays, distressed leather, and renewable materials that create a serene, nature-infused aesthetic. In the residences and penthouses, warm dark woods, shimmering mosaics, sumptuous marbles, and bespoke cabinetry reinterpret classic pre-war detailing with a contemporary sensibility.
The amenities floor expands the building’s commitment to elevated wellness with a serene palette and thoughtfully designed spaces. The La Palestra Health and Wellness Center includes a three-lane pool wrapped in limestone and wood, dual fireplaces, an indoor/outdoor hot tub, sauna, and yoga studio. A custom-designed resident lounge offers a full-service kitchen, reading room, and game area—providing thoughtful communal environments that feel both indulgent and grounded.
