The Scout Capital headquarters occupies 15,000 square feet across a Fifth Avenue penthouse duplex, where soaring ceilings, sweeping midtown views, and a crisp industrial aesthetic define a modern, high-performance workplace.
Conceived as a refined yet high-tech environment, the office emphasizes clean lines, natural light, and a curated material palette that balances the precision of glass and concrete with the warmth of rich oak and classic mid-century furnishings.
The challenge was to create an elevated corporate environment that preserved the panoramic skyline views while supporting the functional needs of a thriving hedge fund.
The design required careful spatial planning to maintain openness, integrate privacy where necessary, and ensure that the space felt sophisticated rather than stark—striking the right balance between industrial simplicity and executive-level refinement.
The solution centered on transparency, light, and sculptural restraint. Full-height glass partitions form the majority of enclosed areas, celebrating the dramatic views and preserving natural light throughout the duplex. Select frosted sections allow privacy without sacrificing openness. White walls, concrete flooring, and minimalist architectural reveals reinforce the clean industrial aesthetic, while custom millwork— inspired by the geometric forms of Donald Judd—introduces texture and warmth through rift oak detailing.
In the Executive Partner suite, positioned at the corner with the most breathtaking vistas, sophisticated mid-century pieces complete the setting. Soft brown leather, taupe suede, and heather wool upholstery contrast the cool architectural materials, creating a nuanced and inviting executive environment. The result is a workspace that feels both modern and timeless: high-tech in function, refined in tone, and elevated by the iconic backdrop of Manhattan.
