Located where the West Village meets Soho and Tribeca, the Morton Square Residence is a chic 2,100-square-foot loft designed as an easy, low-maintenance pied-à-terre for jet-setting owners with homes in Aspen and Fire Island.
Bright and open, the space maximizes simplicity and comfort through streamlined forms, rich textures, eye-catching color, and integrated technology. The result is a modern retreat perfectly suited for both quick city visits and relaxed downtime.
The clients needed a New York residence that felt luxurious yet unfussy — a space that required minimal upkeep, offered plenty of concealed storage, and expressed their contemporary aesthetic without overwhelming the modest footprint.

The design employs a clean, modern approach anchored by a wall-to-wall walnut media and storage unit, which discreetly houses the owners’ extensive collection of music, books, barware, china, and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. In front of this sculptural backdrop, a mix of polished chrome, bright enamel, and warm leather creates a dynamic yet harmonious living area. A white Mouille light fixture adds an artistic, sculptural touch overhead.
A neutral palette creates cohesion throughout the residence, while punches of vivid color energize the public rooms. As the architecture moves toward private spaces, the palette deepens — culminating in a master bedroom where mocha tones contrast elegantly with crisp white walls. Here, rich textures replace bold color, creating a space defined by sophistication, calm, and modern luxury.
