Overlooking the iconic views of Central Park, this pre-war pied-à-terre underwent a complete transformation, resulting in a serene, sophisticated retreat in the sky. Designed as both a tranquil escape and a glamorous backdrop for entertaining, the residence blends timeless elegance with modern comfort.
The original layout was cramped and lacked the functionality and open flow the client envisioned. The second bedroom limited natural light and obstructed the spectacular views, while the overall space fell short on essential storage and modern amenities.
The challenge was to reimagine the home to maximize views, improve circulation, and create a balance between functionality and refined design.
The redesign opened the living space by removing the second bedroom, unveiling unobstructed views of Central Park. A complete reorganization of the floor plan introduced a walk-in closet, pantry, and ample storage, bringing both practicality and luxury. The new kitchen, with sleek white lacquer cabinetry and mosaic marble tile, and the serene travertine-detailed baths, reflect understated sophistication. Period furniture and artwork, combined with custom millwork, create a timeless atmosphere — a peaceful haven during the week and a stunning setting for evening gatherings as the city lights twinkle far below.
